Easter
Easter is a major Christian holiday that falls at different times each year.
Calculating when Easter falls is complicated, and to know when Easter is to be celebrated, you need to know when the phases of the moon and the position of the Sundays are during the year.
During Easter, holidays such as Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday are celebrated,
when we remember Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Symbols and decorations that are most often used during Easter celebrations have their origins in old traditions. Easter is strongly associated with eggs, which are a symbol of life, and the fact that we decorate an Easter party with the color yellow during Easter is connected to the egg and the chicken.
The tradition of children dressing up as Easter Bunny or Easter witch was originally to scare, but has later changed to being kind witches handing out Easter cards to the neighbors. The Easter celebrations are usually in motion on Easter Eve or on Maundy Thursday.
